Insulating your home

As part of our commitment to helping the people of Plymouth stay warmer and save money on their energy bills, we’ve teamed up with British Gas to insulate eligible homes across the city to help you reduce the amount of energy that is used and wasted in your home.

Free or subsidised loft and wall insulation

Through the government’s Energy Company Obligations (ECO) scheme, British Gas is insulating eligible homes to improve their energy efficiency and reduce their carbon emissions with the help of free or subsidised insulation. 9 out of 10 homes will be eligible for cavity wall insulation and loft insulation – completely free of charge. We are also able to offer grants towards the cost of solid wall insulation.

Eligibility

The home insulation scheme is open to all private households across the city – whether you’re a homeowner, landlord or tenant. You don’t have to be a British Gas customer either or take out any other product or service to benefit from the scheme.
