Wanted! School caretakers and site managers to take energy survey in return for school equipment...

Are you a school interested in an exciting project that could lead to significant cost savings?

Our partners at the Centre for Sustainable Energy in Bristol are seeking to build an innovative energy management platform for schools – with pupils and teachers involved at every level. The platform will use state-of-the-art technology to give an in-depth view of how schools use energy and where and how it can be used more efficiently.

CSE are looking for school caretakers, site managers, business and energy managers to take part in an interview to tell them about energy management and energy use in the schools they look after. In exchange for 45 minutes of your time they are offering £50 towards equipment for the school.

CSE do appreciate that it’s the holidays but the timing is out of their hands. They also appreciate that 45 minutes is quite a lot of your time, but it’s an exciting project that could lead to significant cost savings for resource-stretched schools. They’d be grateful if you could spread the word and help them find interviewees.

This is part of a new government funded research project that CSE are working on with Samsung UK, Lancaster University and My Utility Genius to create a smart energy platform that can help schools to reduce their energy bills.

You can read more about the Micro:bit energy platform project here.

If you would like to take part, please email annette.lamley@cse.org.uk or call 0117 934 1415.

There is also an opportunity for interested schools to have further involvement in the project to the end of 2019. To learn more about what this would involve and how it might benefit you please email tim.bailey@samsung.com.
