Heat Hero 2016 Award for Jake from our Energy Team

Jake Ellis – the youngest member of our Energy Team – has been awarded a national Heat Hero 2016 Award for “…going ‘above and beyond’ to help people living in fuel poverty in their local community”.

National Energy Action (NEA Website) selected Jake for the award due to his efforts in training frontline workers for over 20 partners and advising almost 2000 residents on keeping bills down and staying warm and well.

Over a period of just three months Jake improved the financial wellbeing of four families by £4600 a year each through unclaimed benefits and energy advice. He helps tackle fuel and household debt regularly through grant referrals and partnership working.
He also does not mind crawling into cupboards to read meters and changing lightbulbs for the vulnerable and elderly.

Well done Jake!
