Boiler breakdown? Did you know you could have an emergency repair or replacement for free?

We can help you to put heat back into your home this winter. Qualifying households with a broken boiler can access the Emergency Central Heating Offer through PEC. This will restore a working boiler to your house, usually within 2-3 weeks, at no cost.

  • Someone in your home receives a benefit due to a disability or illness.
  • Your household receives child benefit and your total household income is below the following figures:

  • Your total household income is less than £30,000 once energy and housing costs have been taken into account

Frequently asked questions

I’m not sure if I/we are eligible

Our advisors can help you to work this out and provide advice about what you can do if you are not eligible. Give us a call, you have nothing to lose and we are friendly.

My boiler isn’t completely broken, can I still apply?

This scheme can only help if your boiler is broken enough that you are unable to heat your home. However, other schemes will soon be available if you need to replace an old boiler. These may take a little longer and there is no guarantee but we can put you on a waiting list and if your boiler breaks in the meantime we can access this emergency help.

What other help can the Energy Team provide?

We can help you to deal with other emergency situations like topping up your meter if you run out of credit or negotiating with an energy supplier.

Our friendly advisors can also help you to make sure your energy bills are cheaper and less worrying in the long term. They can help you to access better deals, claim what you are entitled to (but may not know about), install energy saving items in your home and stay warm while using less energy.
