Inspiring our sustainable energy future (Bristol)

This free conference will seek to propagate optimism and inspire action to accelerate change towards a sustainable energy future. We are bringing together key players and practitioners from across the local and national sustainable energy landscape.

The Centre for Sustainable Energy approaches its 40th birthday at a time of national policy deadlock and distraction, but there are nevertheless hopeful signs.

A growing roll call of local authorities have declared a climate emergency in response to the latest scientific evidence. Through school strikes and active citizenship, the voices of a new generation are demanding to be heard. And a groundswell of locally led initiatives is breaking new ground right across the country.

This conference will explore how these positive developments can drive new practice and stimulate new action.

Confirmed speakers include: Jasmine Ketibuah-Foley (Ujima Radio & Green & Black Ambassador); Meghna Tewari (Head of Vulnerability and Consumer Policy, Ofgem); Adam Corner (Climate Outreach); Dr Becky Willis (IGov, University of Exeter); Polly Billington (UK100); Jane Wildblood (Bath & North East Somerset Council); Alison Sleightholm (Western Power Distribution); Felicity Jones (Everoze) and Joanne Wade (Association for Decentralised Energy).
